Matt Bellamy of Muse and Kate Hudson Offer Eponymous Wine

Matt Bellamy of Muse and Kate Hudson

As reported in Life & Style magazine, Matt Bellamy of Muse and Kate Hudson were so happy with their 2010 HudsonBellamy rosé wine that they will now begin selling it in restaurants and bars.

This strategy by Hudson and Bellamy is the latest in a long line of celebrities including actress Drew Barrymore, Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie and film director Francis Ford Coppola, who has restored California’s historic Inglenook brand and recently won 26 medals from the International Wine & Spirits Competition 2013.

Bellamy and Hudson are said to have offered friends and family the chance to purchase cases before it goes on sale to the public, describing the wine as “crisp, bright and perfect for upcoming summer.”

Another high profile couple who seem keen to be taken seriously within the industry are Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Their Château Miraval rosé project with Beaucastel’s Perrin family is now on sale in the UK through Berry Brothers & Rudd.

A more detailed look at celebrity wine success stories and failures, from Motörhead’s bag-in-box Shiraz to fashion designer Roberto Cavalli’s leopard print take on Chianti, appeared in May’s issue of the drinks business.
